History

   

The company's history begins with a small candle factory.
Emperor Nicholas I signed a Decree of the Foundation of the "Saint Petersburg Society for the production of stearin candles" in February 1839.
To implement the project, the partners bought one of the candle factories located on the banks of the Neva river. The new company was named "Saint Petersburg Nevsky plant". And already in 1843, at the Sixth Russian manufacturing exhibition, the factory's products received the right to a "quality mark" — the image of the state emblem.
in 1857, the factory was eoutfitted with modern equipment - a steam engine, hydraulic presses, machines for weaving wick, cutting candles. The factory had gas lighting. In 1861, company presented its products at the world industrial exhibition in London. A few years later, the soap "Nestor" received the highest award at the world exhibition in Paris .

With the beginning of the First world war, company became the main supplier of the army. Dynamite, Nestor soap, and candles were supplied by government order.

During the Second World war, powders for combustible mixtures, dynamite glycerine and soap were produced. The post-war years were marked by an expansion of the company's product range. In the 1950s, the production of cosmetic creams and toothpastes began.
In April 1992, the company was transformed into the joint-stock company "Nevskaya Cosmetics".

Today, Nevskaya Cosmetics has become one of the most famous Russian manufacturers of cosmetics and homecare products.The company is actively developing, following its principles — striving for quality, expanding its range, and introducing new technologies.
